“ I go 40 miles out of my way whenever I'm in the area. I love the hot beef sandwich. Just like my Iowa grandma used to make. You can't beat the historical building and atmosphere filled with hundreds of local history items. I usually add a slice of pie for the perfect comfort food meal. They regularly have live music in the summer months. Be sure to check the schedule. ”

And they brew some of their own beer. Unfortunately you can’t take any home. That would be cool. A lot of pictures hanging. Plenty to look at. Would have loved to sit outside, but they weren’t staffed enough. Bummer. Not the end of the world. Glad we stopped. Would definitely go again. Looks like the place where all the locals go . The broiled chicken was fantastic and the house salad dressing with a hint of horseradish is unique and very tasty. They also make their own beers and cream soda. The pies were also delish.
